Historic Architectural Review Board
The "Saxonburg Historic Overlay District Ordinance" provided for the appointment of a Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB). The HARB is required to give recommendations to Saxonburg Borough Council regarding the issuance of a "Certificate of Appropriateness Application," in connection with the granting or refusal of Permits within the Historic District, and for appeals from such refusals.
A "Certificate of Appropriateness Application" can be obtained online or at the Borough office. Upon completing the application, the application and supporting documentation are to be submitted to the Borough office for distribution to the HARB members. Submissions must be received in the office no later than seven (7) days prior to the next scheduled meeting. All submissions must be filled out correctly with documentation attached, in order to be considered for approval by the HARB. If not, they will not be brought before the HARB until the next scheduled meeting.
